A work RVU (wRVU) is the physician-work component of a CPT/HCPCS code's Relative Value Units under the CMS Physician Fee Schedule. It measures the relative time, skill, and effort of a service and is the value most physician productivity and compensation plans pay on.

How do I calculate total RVUs for a CPT code?

Look up the work RVU value for the CPT code in the relevant CMS year, then multiply by the quantity (number of times the service was performed). This calculator does that automatically and sums the totals across every code you enter.
